As my favourite  saying goes \u2018there is no right or wrong way, it\u2019s all about choice\u2019. I  just want to share the <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/the-ultimate-guide-to-the-perfect-one-week-road-trip-through-croatia\/\">things we did during our trip<\/a> that I probably  wouldn\u2019t do again, that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean you shouldn\u2019t try them yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. PORT CABLE CAR<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<a title=\"Andrew Bone from Weymouth, England [CC BY 2.0 (https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by\/2.0)], via Wikimedia Commons\" href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Cable_Car_over_Barcelona_harbour_(26370600100).jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Cable Car over Barcelona harbour\" src=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Cable_Car_over_Barcelona_harbour.jpg\"><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>Lonely Planet recommends this cable car so it must be good, right? I  imagined a <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/5-great-romantic-destinations\/\">romantic<\/a> ride, just the two of us taking in the views over  the marina. I couldn\u2019t have been more wrong! For a rip of price of 11  EUR per person (one way trip) we were herded inside like cattle with at  least 10 other people. Although there was glass on all sides, if you\u2019re the unlucky ones who end up in the middle there isn\u2019t much too see. Being the short arse I am, I could barely see over the heads of people all squished against the glass but, from what I could see the view from  the left side (going uphill) didn\u2019t look anything special anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. MONTJUIC CASTLE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<a title=\"Cateyano [CC BY-SA 4.0 (https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-sa\/4.0)], via Wikimedia Commons\" href=\"https:\/\/commons.wikimedia.org\/wiki\/File:Montjuic_Castle-_Spain.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Montjuic Castle, Spain\" src=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Montjuic_Castle-Spain.jpg\"><\/a>\n\n\n\n<p>After getting off the first cable car you can get a second one that drops you off just below the castle. Rather than enduring another cable car ride we opted to walk up instead, which was a killer in almost 40\u2019c heat. Entry to castle is only 10 EUR (although after reading TripAdvisor it appears prices seem to vary). If you\u2019ve walked all the way to the top <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/top-five-places-to-visit-in-and-around-bali\/\">you may as well take a look around<\/a>. The castle is well maintained  but, there\u2019s not much to see other than a couple of &nbsp;decomitioned cannons. I think most people go inside hoping for a better view over the  city and port. This was a must see for me so, I booked tickets in advance before we  left the UK. I paid 29 EUR per person for entrance to the cathedral and  to go up the Passion Fa\u00e7ade. I choose the Passion over the Nativity Fa\u00e7ade as its higher up and has views over the city centre. In  hindsight, I think we would have preferred the Nativity as tower which  was was built under the direct supervision of Antoni Gaud\u00ed, until the  the others. Don\u2019t get me wrong the view was great but, as with most sights like this the view is always better when you\u2019re looking at the place of interest, rather than the view from it. Save yourself some euros and just buy the standard ticket for 15 EUR per person (22 EUR if  you want an audio <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/a-beginners-travel-guide-to-moscow\/\">guide)<\/a>, and with the 14 EUR you\u2019ve save head to roof  top bar for a cocktail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--nextpage-->\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>BARCELONA BEACHES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Barcelona-Beach-at-Sunset.jpg\" alt=\"Barcelona Beach at Sunset\" class=\"wp-image-1438\" srcset=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Barcelona-Beach-at-Sunset.jpg 800w, https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Barcelona-Beach-at-Sunset-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Barcelona-Beach-at-Sunset-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Barcelona Beach at Sunset<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s crowded, expensive (so I heard from other <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/55-tips-for-travel\/\">travellers<\/a>) and full of  hawkers. <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/costa-rica-beaches\/\">Beaches are pretty<\/a> much the same wherever you go. The city  however, is unique. There\u2019s no other place in the <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/7-wonders-of-the-world\/\">world<\/a> where you\u2019ll  find the best of Antonio Gaudi\u2019s architecture, the Museu Picasso or Camp  Nou. If time had of been on our side, maybe we would of had a day in  the water but, in 5 days we only just scratched the surface of  Barcelona. With so many amazing <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/no-pattaya-secrets-just-pure-fun\/\">places to explore<\/a> in the city, why spend it sitting on a beach? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>EAT ON LA RAMBLA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/sweets-at-the-boqueria-in-barcelona-P3N9A3Z.jpg\" alt=\"Sweets at the Boqueria in Barcelona, Spain\" class=\"wp-image-923\" srcset=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/sweets-at-the-boqueria-in-barcelona-P3N9A3Z.jpg 800w, https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/sweets-at-the-boqueria-in-barcelona-P3N9A3Z-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/sweets-at-the-boqueria-in-barcelona-P3N9A3Z-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption>Sweets at the Boqueria in Barcelona, Spain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>La Rambla is probably one of the busiest streets in the whole of  Barcelona. The food here tends to be a lower quality at a hiked up price, not to mention the constant pestering from hawkers even whilst you eat. Of course, there are exceptions to this. We ate a breakfast from La Boqueria market a couple of mornings and it was delicious. But,  if you\u2019re wanting good tapas veer off down the side streets and head to El Born which is known all over Barcelona as a <a href=\"https:\/\/viralvacationideas.com\/taste-of-thailand-11-best-thai-dishes-you-just-have-to-eat\/\">food lovers paradise<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have you been Barcelona?
